Baritone Ukulele Chord Shapes: The CAGED System Illustrated

Last month, I had the opportunity to attend Smoldering Uke in Carmel Valley, and re-awaken my baritone ukulele love. SU is a spring version of the infamous Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz's Burning Uke 4-day weekend camp. Smoldering Uke is also a 4-day camp and has been going on for several years. There were about 85 campers this year - enjoying uke centered classes, performances, jams, a small uke related sale, and a dance.

I have been learning to play the guitar during the COVID surge. Since the guitar and the bari share the same DGBE strings there is quite a bit of overlap. Guitar players frequently learn the CAGED system to gain a better understanding of the variety of chord shapes. After returning home, I decided to see if anyone has posted the same for baritone ukulele.

I found a website dedicated to the baritone ukulele, https://baritoneukes.com/ created by Cat. Her website provides some great stuff for the bari and I highly recommend that visit the "Baritone Ukes" site. I'll place a link on the sidebar of Humble Baritonics.

Happy Strumming,
