Anne Murray || A Bari Beginning...

There is a lengthy history of Anne Murray in the YT comments. It is a nice read. She was from Nova Scotia. The video doesn't have a Bari image or soundtrack but it is a beautiful distraction.

"After high school, Anne spent a year at Mount Saint Vincent University, a Catholic women's college in Halifax. Her next stop was the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, where she studied Physical Education. Her passion for music continued. Her university friends talked her into auditioning for "Singalong Jubilee", a popular CBC television show. She took along her baritone ukulele to the audition."

  1. I know the Baritone Ukulele connection was slight but I am glad you were paying attention. Did you enjoy that video?

  2. I'm not a real big Anne Murray fan but am proud of her none the less. My Mother in law remembers seeing Anne sing at a local hotel. she always sang in her bare feet back then. Also my wife is an alumni of Mount St.Vincent University. Man it was hard sneaking by those Nuns at the front desk of her residence!

  3. Well Woodcutter it sure would be nice to have a picture of you with a bari and a scenic Nova Scotia background. We have been having odd weather here in California. The second week of Nov '10 and temps in the high 70's. This week has been wet and stormy. Tonight it's expected to get in the 20's in the San Francisco Bay Area. That's as cold as I can ever remember around here. Are you far enough north to experience anything close to midnight sun in the summer? Jeff

  4. We have longer days than you do when it's summer but we are a long ways from the midnight sun. Winter is long enough as it is. It snowed yesterday and spring only comes at the end of April, its pretty grey and dull until then. I'll do my best to get a picture for ya.
