PHOTO: Todd Baio Old-Time Folkster

Todd Baio, aka, Doogey9 or Brother Sonny, has been a friend and encourager of Humble Uker and Humble Baritonics blogs. Todd blends his solid singing voice and many of the old-time songs with his string music stylings. He's a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and has a plethura of great videos. His love of simple and soulful music is clearly displayed in his numerous videos.

I asked Todd if he could share a couple of photos of himself with his Baritone Ukuleles and he has obliged. This is the first of the two photos that he sent me. I will save the second photo for a future posting of Todd's new recordings. There is a simplicity to the music but Todd always adds his knowledge and skillful fingerings to each arrangement. I think that this photo shows Todd's very contemplative side.

Todd has also created CD's (for sale) of several of his songs, and he's created a video with more information here...

Here's Swanee River, a simple tune, but expertly performed.

The Baritone Ukulele has another cousin called the Tenor Banjo. Here, MM, or Dirk has shared a good banjo tune with us via YT.

Danielle Ate the Sandwich || Goodbye Frankie

Tonight, I decided to rework several of the BARI BOX VIDEOS to create a full lady's line-up. These are changed regularly, so keep your eyes open for more changes. Now Danielle, get your monkey suit on...

Kaile || Passes & Passports (Reverie Sound Revue)

Here's another lovely young singer, Kate, who's found a new Baritone Ukulele. I like the very artistic way that this video is shot. Kate is an 18 year old singer-songwriter according to her YouTube channel. She's quite the musician -- I find it amazing how so much talent is developed at a young age. I'm glad that she bought the Bari -- it is much lighter to carry than a piano.

Kate CAN write songs, and really touch a deeper place, here she sings her own song while playing the paino -- Jailbait

... I spent the day writing a song for YouTube!

Sleipniruke || Essai Favilla Baryton B2

Favilla: such a warm sound... Pierre of UkeAttitude inquired about the tune and the response was, "It's just an 'improvisation', a variation on a simple result of agreement." Interesting way to put it or an odd Google translation? Very nice improvisation.
