Daniel Ward & Heidi Swedeborg || The Owl and the Pussycat Ukulele Duet

You'll notice immediately that there is not a baritone ukulele in this video. This post is to let you know that Daniel Ward has a book called, Arpeggio Meditations for Ukulele, that I recommend. Daniel has taught ukulele classes around the world and comes from a prestigious Latin Classical Guitar background. His expertise is fully carried into his playing of the standard ukulele.

I took Daniel's arpeggio class that his book is based on at the California Coast Music Camp where he also taught a Latin strums class. His experience is undeniable and he shares musical techniques freely. His knowledge of the mechanics of the arm and hand will amaze you.

His book uses his own song creations and different right-hand (strumming hand) patterns to develop several new picking patterns that will at first challenge, and then as your muscle memory improve, they become part of your comfortable repertoire.

Daniel's Arpeggio Meditations for Ukulele may be the best ukulele book in my collection!

  1. I should also note that the book is written for high-G GCEA playing but I play along in high-D or low-D on my baris. Jeff / HU
