About 1:30 in this video (below) he mentions that the ukulele is a baritone and then repeats it a few times later too. My understanding of Japanese is almost none but I understood: baritone, ukulele, Jazz, slack-tuned, Hilo Shower and Ohta-san. He starts playing at about 4:15 in this video. The Hawaiian slack key sound is so amazing!
I think that the Slack-Key Hawaiian music is another area where the baritone ukulele can grow further along. Look for Mark Kailana Nelson and Ukulele Uncle books.
