So very nice to hear from you pal. I have enjoyed your CD's. They are so much fun and very well done. I knew that you had trimmed down your instrument collection and was very disappointed to know that you were sans bari these days. You have shared so much and I have tried to spread your music because I love it!
I tried fingerpicking Pink Anderson's "You Don't Know" at the last Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz meeting and I unfortunately crashed and burned. Thus is the life of a closet bari-uke hobbyist. There are highs and lows.
I don't play enough behind a mic, where the sound moves away from you, and haven't gotten the knack of it yet. Once every 6 months is perhaps just not often enough.
Would love to hear you play some bari again. Also would love to see you come to the Bay Area and be the special guest at the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz. You could bring CD's for sale. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
HFB -- To have Todd take time to leave a noteis quite a compliment. He loves old-timey self-made music best. You can find his videos under "Doogey9". Your playing is much like his fingerpicking which I just can't get enough of.
I do hope that you get your bari situation sorted. I would like to hear more.
i really enjoyed that H.U.
