If you ever come across a jucy bari video in Tibetan, Bengali, or Icelandic please drop me an e-mail. Are you still working with Herman?
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about the bari is that you can play the exact same fingerings as your standard ukulele BUT it will be in a different key. Or you can shuffle the chords over to the bari fingerings. In this way you start learning the song in different keys.
So if you would like to have a deeper sound once in a while the bari is a good option.
Jeff, I composed both Swirling Clouds and Oblivion on my baritone uke.
ReplyDeleteAnd just as you said, I enjoy composing tunes on the bari and then playing them on my concert GCEA uke with the same fingering. I did this with my piece Maelström and it's like you have two completely different tunes.
Unfortunately I am not working with Herman any more as we couldn't find a time that would suit both of us this year.
I'll definitely let you know if I come across some Icelandic or Bengali baritone. No luck so far but you never know...
