Well, I'm always up for a Gaga uke cover if the uker takes the song seriously. Cover a song that you don't like or that you think you're just too good for and it shows, and you end up looking ridiculous, not the song. Oh, the irony.
I've seen videos of ukers who think they're making a pop song look silly, but their (and their audience's, if that's the case) utter cluelessness and lack of self-awareness is hilarious. One particular example of this involves members of the Boulder Acoustic Society, who along with Danielle were performing a song by Miley Cyrus at a Denver Uke Festival. She was singing the song straight, but a few of the guys decided they were just too cool for it and camped it up, no doubt encouraged by the laughter from the audience. Well, the irony, of course, which went over the heads of performers and audience alike, was that the guys came off as buffoons, as did the 'too cool for Miley' audience. Danielle kept her dignity intact throughout.
As Ben, who doesn't look down on the song, does here. Well done...
And speaking of goin' Gaga, Jeff, what do you think of Mother Monster's newest video? Any wishing to see something most likely unlike anything they've seen before can look into -
