Uke of Carl || Feed the Birds

I have made another ukulele friend via the internet. Carl has posted quite a few tabs on his site http://ukeofcarl.com/. This one appears to work quite well on the Low D baritone ukulele. It appears to me that  "Feed the Birds" has not been posted yet.

Carl has also put together some e-books for sale which you can find on his site. I have purchase the Jewish one since I like klezmer music. I am a fan of Carl's ever since I saw that he created a beautiful tab for the haunting cult classic Twin Peaks theme "Falling."

Friends of Old Puppy || Jazzy Silent Night

As I post this there are 600 views. I have sat in on the bakery group a couple of times. Steven Strauss was a big influence with the Berkeley Ukulele Club. He brought an amazing amount of musical knowledge and shared quite generously. This is THE MAN that music book companies should be hunting out for the best vintage music. His arrangements are the best I've had the pleasure to try.

Smooth, cool, laid back, great music played at a bakery in Berkeley, California...

Pip's words...

"Friends of Old Puppy play Silent Night. The "Silent Night" (a.k.a. "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht") melody was composed around about 1817 by Franz Xaver Gruber. Lyrics are not used in this performance. The Friends of Old Puppy features Steven Strauss on electric soprano ukulele, Billy Wilson on ELECTRIC BARITONE UKULELE, Kurt Stevenson on guitar, Ed Johnson on wash-tub bass ("gutbucket"), and Cynthia Wilson on the drums. This music was recorded on December 3, 2011.

Videographed, sound engineered (such as it is), and edited by Pip R. Lagenta. Additional digital artwork by Pip R. Lagenta.

Friends of Old Puppy play at the Nabolom Bakery in Berkeley, every Saturday morning (starting at 10 a.m.).

Aaron Keim || Aphids In the Kale Patch (Clawhammer Ukulele)

If you've been following Humble Baritonics for a while you know that I am a fan of Aaron's since his days with Boulder Acoustic Society. He and his wife Nicole are multi-instrumentalists and have a wonderful website, called The Quiet American.

Flea Market Music || The Daily Ukulele Songbook Goes Bari!

Jim Beloff has been on the leading edge of the ukulele world for over a decade. He is the creator of the Flea and the Fluke style ukuleles. His company, Flea Market Music is responsible for one of the bari books that I recommend -- The Bari Best. Now, the word is out that he's creating a baritone version of his book, The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs for Better Living.
I would also recommend that you check out his site, www.fleamarketmusic.com. I enjoy looking at all of the comments on the bulletin board.

Jim asked for photos for his new book and I missed his deadline. I don't know if the word will get to Jim but I will post some shots that Jim might like below...
