Jas Warner || Last Kiss (Pearl Jam cover)

Here's a young lady amateur musician that plays a wonderful song. It's not perfect so I can relate as I am a master of imperfection. Nicely done, and a quite a sweet voice...

Karly Hartzman || The Colours of the Wind

Nice song choice...

Stephen Seifert || "Reading Hands"

This is an excellent video. I had borrowed a dulcimer for a short time from a friend and still have a small "hankering" for one. What can we learn from this folk dulcimer teacher? There's plenty in here...

Ganga K. Cajon || A Little Spanish guitar sound on the Bari

Here's Ganga K. playing a Kawika bari-uke and getting a great sound from it. I think that this shows some of the great versatility of a simple four stringed bari-uke. Most of the left hand work looks relatively simple for most of the arrangement...

Song-A-Day Mann || Hey, You Found a Boat

Song #1452...

Sir Paul -- is that a Cigar Box Resonator Baritone Ukulele?

I received an e-mail from Lawrence R. inquiring whether this was a baritone ukulele in Paul McCartney's hands. He primarily played bass with the Beatles but here he's using a slide and it could be a baritone that he's playing. What do you think?

Sir Paul -- If you read this it would be amazing to hear from you! What is that instrument and who made it

Sandy Relief Concert -- Sir Paul in the middle of a Nirvana Reunion

I hope that we see an affordable resonator baritone ukulele, or steel resonator baritone ukulele on the market someday. I was at Gryphon Strings (Palo Alto, California) a few days ago and saw a Gold Tone Tenor Guitar and gave it a try. It is a fine sounding instrument. Someone had tuned it DGBE and it felt real good in my hands! The steel strings had a nice movement and I think I could get used to it pretty quickly. I have also tried out some 4 string tenor banjos that have been mighty tempting. Maybe next year?

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Stede & Monty Del Zorro!

The Del Zorros || I Still Believe in Magic

The Del Zorros || You Make Me Feel Like Christmas

Fantastic performance. I wasn't sure what to expect but I think there's a bit of early 60's retro in this performance...

DGroen65 || Colorado Christmas

UkeyLad || Shine On Harvest Moon

Here's a simple old tune played with some style...

YouKu Benny Chong || The Nearness of You

If there's someone that is fluent in Mandarin(?) I would be glad to have help finding more Baritone Ukulele player videos that come from youku.

Ken Middleton || Tecumseh Valley

These re-entrant baritone ukulele strings are available on Ken's site, Living Water. Look at his site carefully, the baritone strings are clearly noted but there are other string sets too.

Ken Middleton || Colours

Ken notes....
"A folk song made popular in the 60's when it was recorded by Donovan. I am playing a re-entrant tuned (high D) old Harmony baritone ukulele. It was a gift from his friend. Living Water Strings, needless to say."
I had been playing Low D almost exclusively until I put a set of Ken's Living Water Strings on one of my 4 bari's. It has opened up another world for me as I get to play some of the fantastic arrangements that are out there for high-tuned instruments.

My favorite books for high-tuned ukuleles are John King's "Famous Solos and Duets for the 'Ukulele" and Dick Sheridan's "American Roots Music for the Ukulele published by Alfred Music.The later book has 53 American traditional songs. They are arranged in single note melody playing and more complex finger-picking styles. I recommend both books VERY highly for those that have interest in fingerpicking.

Canaries in the Coal Mine || Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I found a "Canaries in the Coal Mine" album link. I don't know if there's bari-uke in it. But here it is.

News Clip from "Big Country's Got Talent" feature.

Canaries in the Coal Mine || Rudolph

Be sure to listen past the restarts, it is beautifully done once it gets rolling...

Krabbers with a Bari || Stuff Ain't Good (Original)

Exceptional original. It is fun to see the community of talented ukulele players create and inspire with such amazing original music. Krabbers crosses over from standard to bari-uke occasionally and that's always a treat for us bari players to hear. Thanks Krabbers!
